Deltarune Chapter 5 Walkthrough: Complete 'Festival Day' Guide | Dark World Academy

Deltarune Chapter 5 ("Festival Day") takes Kris, Susie, and Noelle into a brand-new Dark World. After the events of Chapter 4, Hometown is celebrating its grand festival. However, when Kris opens a Dark Fountain inside Asgore's Flower Shop, the squad is pulled into a vibrant yet dangerous Dark World ruled by the mysterious Flowery (Asgore's long-lost friend).

This walkthrough covers the Pacifist Route (Sparing all enemies) and key puzzle solutions to get you through the chapter.

1. Hometown: The Festival Grounds

Before entering the Dark World, you must explore Hometown.

Warm the Toast: At the start of the chapter, you are tasked with warming some toast. Interact with the toaster in the kitchen.
Meet Noelle and Susie: Head south from Kris's house. You will run into Noelle and Susie. Talk to them, and they will join your party as followers.
Explore the Beach: Go further right, exit the festival area, and head to the beach. Interact with the water for some unique flavor text between Susie and Noelle.
Visit Asgore's Flower Shop: Enter Asgore's shop. Noelle will buy flowers. Once she leaves, Susie decides she wants to buy flowers too.
The Fountain: In a dramatic sequence, Kris pulls out their SOUL and opens a Dark Fountain in the middle of the flower shop, dragging Kris, Susie, and the shop into the Dark World.

2. Entering the Dark World

You wake up in a new, colorful dark world filled with giant flower buds.

Ralsei's Return: You will find four mysterious wardrobes. Interact with them. From the fourth one, Ralsei will pop out.
The Flower Costume: Flowery will drop Ralsei's classic Chapter 1 costume on his head. Welcome back, classic Ralsei!
The Warning: Ralsei warns that the Roaring Knight might try to kidnap Asgore (who is trapped deeper in the shop's Dark World). Your objective is to reach Asgore before the Knight does.

3. The Field of Blooming Dreams

This area is a direct reflection of Chapter 1's Field of Hopes and Dreams, but themed entirely around flowers, honey, and garden tools.

Key Enemies & Sparing Methods:

Pollener: Use Susie's Blow act to scatter its pollen, then Spare.
Honey-Bee: Use Kris's Distract act while Susie and Ralsei Hum.

4. Chapter 5 Key Puzzle Solutions

The Blossom Gate Puzzle

In the second zone of the Field, you will find a locked gate with three colored flower buttons: Red, Yellow, and Blue.

Solution: Look at the background bees flying. The order they land on the flowers indicates the code: Yellow -> Blue -> Red. Hit the buttons in this order to open the gate.

The Watering Can Maze

You must navigate a maze where giant watering cans block your path. Touching the water drops resets you to the entrance.

Solution: Stand behind Susie and use her Shield act to block the water drops as you walk through.

5. Boss Strategy: Flowery

The main boss of Chapter 5 is Flowery, a twisted reflection of Asgore's past.

Phase 1 (The Vine Whip): Flowery attacks with fast-moving green vines. Slide through the gaps. Use Ralsei's Heal Prayer if you take damage.
Phase 2 (The Petal Rain): Giant petals fall from the top of the screen. Keep Kris moving in circular motions to avoid the tracking petals.
How to Spare Flowery: Have Kris use the Reminisce act to talk about Asgore's shop. This weakens Flowery's defense and fills his Mercy bar by 25% each turn.

6. Chapter 5 Secret Boss & Shadow Crystal

Current Theory: You need to find the Golden Seed item in the Watering Can Maze, plant it in Ralsei's Castle Garden, and return to the Flower Shop basement during the Epilogue. Check back shortly for the fully verified guide!

How many endings does Deltarune Chapter 5 have?

Like previous chapters, there is one main ending, but the Weird Route leads to a completely altered boss fight and a darker story outcome.

Can I recruit Flowery?

If you beat Flowery using only the Spare route (Pacifist), he will be recruited and move into Ralsei's Castle Town as a florist.
